Dante (boy)
- very strong name. and I like the reference to Dante's inferno.
- my favourite Italian boy's name
- Dante was a writer in the middle ages who wrote things that kind of pushed the envelope.
- I don't know if I would ever have the guts to use it for my own son, especially since I live in "Historic Wallace Idaho where the movie Dante's Peak was filmed!", but I love it. It is unusual, a big plus for me, and I love the way it sounds.
- Simply lovely.
Dante is a medieval short form of the name Durante. Durante comes from a Latin name which means "enduring; steadfast." The most famous bearer of this name is the 13th century Italian poet Dante Alighieri, who wrote "The Divine Comedy."
